Harvesting and eating Artichoke and Watermelon.

At last it was time to pick and eat the Sugar Baby Watermelon. The final weight revealed and a tasting. I picked the first of my Artichokes cooked it and prepared dipping sauce. Delicious.

Nice video Dale, we eat our artichokes with just a simple vinaigrette of oil and vinegar and a touch of garlic. We also save the hearts to make pizzas. Our neighbour from Sardinia takes the smaller end of season artichokes and pickles them whole (steamed first) in olive oil and vinegar - they are delicious!
The melon looked good too - good enough to be an advert! Cheers from France, Andy and Sue and the Chicks

Artichoke pizza sounds very exotic and good. The remaining artichokes are all getting to a usable size and no frost here yet so it looks like I will get to enjoy a few more before I drag the large pot into the cellar for the winter.
