A little more progress

A little more progress, originally uploaded by Campobello Island.

Beautiful day for working outside today. I got one side of the roof shingled and after I took this picture I tore down the scaffolding and built it back up again on the other side of the coop so whenever the next good day arrives I'm ready to shingle the other side and the peak.

Building my Chicken Coop

Starting to look like a coop now. I got the back wall sheathed this afternoon and I ordered my chickens from Ohio they will hatch on May 23rd and I should have them by May 25th. Nine Bantams various breeds and straight run, so I hope they are not all roosters, I know there will be at least one Silkie and three Mottled Cochin Bantams the other five will be a mystery and six brown egg laying hens, standard size breeds a mixture of at least five different breeds.

My new chicken coop

My new chicken coop, originally uploaded by Campobello Island.

You don't have to be crazy to be me but I find that it helps. Just ordered this on eBay yesterday. Should arrive in a week or two and I hope to get it put together before winter sets in. In the spring I will buy a few day old chicks. I haven't had hens in many years now but I looking forward to having my own little backyard flock again. Great deal on eBay if anyone is interested, $299.00 plus shipping or best offer. I offered full price with free shipping and my offer was accepted.
