Feeding Winter Robins
I've seen a few Robins around this winter and this one in particular seems to be here everyday. My Pumpkin Sweet apple tree keeps it's fruit on all winter and is a great source of food for the robins that over winter here and the ones that return when the ground is still frozen, Cedar Waxwings and Bohemian Waxwings like the apples too.

Thanking the OldGardenerGuy - Planting Tropicals - Lentil Soup - Birds
I exchanged a few seeds with Rob, OldGardenerGuy, in Finland and received a surprise package in return full of very interesting things that will be added to my garden this summer. Thank you Rob. I received my order of seeds for three different tropical food plants and potted them up in the grow room. If they germinate they should make for some very interesting house plants. Pruned my Chilli Peppers for the second time and reviewed the plants that are growing under lights. Made a very interesting Lentil Soup from a recipe that my sister gave me, topped off with red wine vinegar which surprisingly adds a very nice flavour. To close off the video a look at some of the birds at the winter feeder.

Winter Storm at the Cabin
I decided to spend another stormy night in the cabin. It certainly was a wild and stormy night but we didn't get as much snow as was forecast. I baked some buttermilk biscuits and had my dinner and breakfast in the cabin.
Link to my blog: http://dalecaldersblog.blogspot.com
The recipe for the biscuits:
SACO Buttermilk Biscuits
4 Tbsp Buttermilk Powder
2 Cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp sugar
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cups of water
Preheat oven to 450°F. Sift flour, Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into a large bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is the texture of coarse meal. Make a well in center of flour mixture and pour in water; mix lightly with a fork, just until dry ingredients are moistened and dough holds together. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead lightly two or three times, then roll out with a floured rolling pin to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut in rounds with a floured biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until biscuits are puffed and golden brown. Remove from oven and brush tops of biscuits with melted butter.

My Chilli peppers for the most part are ready for their first pruning and I have started some Round Black Spanish Radish and Goji Berries in the grow room. The difference a day can make
No sound track this is a silent video. Just a short time lapse video done with my iPad Mini and an app called iStopMotion. Over a two day period I made two time lapse clips and joined them together. The app was taking one frame ever 60 seconds from around 8 AM until 6 PM . The first day was grey and overcast with a snow squall in the middle of the day and the second day was sunny and bright with clouds and chem trails racing across the sky.
