Spring at last !!

A beautiful day for a walk in the parks and a chance to see what spring flowers are in bloom. The red trillium's were out in full force, in the Herring Cove Provincial Park. I know there are white and painted trillium on the island too but I have never managed to find them.

A little while later I moved over to the Roosevelt Campobello International Park and found clumps of Spring Beauty in the deciduous forest, taking advantage of the bright sun light before the forest leaves out, putting them in the shade.

At the side of the Glensevern Road between the two parks I was surprised to find the Round Leaf Sundew has already emerging and actually is almost full size, which isn't very big.

Visit to Garden Side Dairy - Jonesboro Maine March 12, 2009

A beautiful late winter day and I decided to make a visit to Garden Side Dairy in Jonesboro Maine about a 45 minute drive from home. Don and Kim Roos and family run a Goat Farm and Dairy there. I was hoping to see some spring kids but no such luck. All of the does are bred and due any day now one might even be over due but none have had their babies yet. I had a cup of tea with Kim and Don and a nice visit with the goats. Must remember to take treats next time. Don took carrots out to give them and one of the does did a search of my pockets convinced that I must have a treat for her too.

The Pathefinders walk is down in Whitneyville this Sunday, which is next door to Jonesboro, so I think I might drop by to see if there have been any blessed events, after the walk.
