Injured Bird

Injured Bird, originally uploaded by Campobello Island.
This little fellow hit a window this morning. When I first picked him up he struggled for a few seconds and I thought it was ok and was going to fly away but then it settled down and would close it's eyes and rest and then look more alert and look around. I carried it around in my open had fro 20 minutes talking to it as it regained it's strength . Finally it flew a few feet into a fir tree and was on it's own again. I haven't checked to see what breed it is likely a Warbler of some sort.

June 14th in Coop and Hoop House

I think the chickens are starting to moult and are taking a little rest from egg laying. I just harvested my early peas and got a very good crop considering the area they grew in was only 3 by 4 feet. A look around at some of the things growing in the hoop house.

HRH Princess Eugenie talks about her Charity Cycle Ride and the Diamond ...

Princess Eugenie, who was treated at the hospital for the disfiguring back condition scoliosis when she was 12, was unveiled as the patron of the appeal in April and will take part in the Nightrider challenge, in which 3,000 cyclists ride a moonlit 100km route around London on Saturday evening [9th June 2012].

The specialist neuro-musculoskeletal hospital in Brockley Hill, Stanmore, aims to raise £15million over the next five years to equip its buildings with the latest technology and create extra facilities once a basic rebuild of its entire site is completed.

Princess Eugenie also discusses the recent Diamond Jubilee events.

How to bake a Victoria Sandwich

Give your 2012 Jubilee an 1897 feel with this easy-to-follow guide, inspired by the exhibition 'Jubilee - a view from the crowd' at Kensington Palace, 24 May - 4 November 2012. For Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 -- the only other Diamond Jubilee in British history -- there were baking competitions, displays in shop windows, and vast quantities produced by bakeries and factories. You can see some wonderful examples of how the world celebrated in the exhibition. www.hrp.org.uk
