The track of the eye of Hurricane Sandy passed very close to our house.
The initial projections called for 24 to 36 hours of 50 to 100 km/h sustained winds with gusts up to 125 km/h. Rainfall amounts were predicted to be 20 to 25 cm.
But, we "dodged the bullet." The Jet Stream both strengthened and expedited Sandy's passage through our area.
What we got was just shy of 12 hours of intense wind and rain. So, we were very lucky.
Our house did receive some minor damage, but it was purely cosmetic.

Glad to hear that you got off on the easy side like we did here. I feel so sorry for the people who have lost loved ones and homes.
